PEZamania 20″ the world’s largest gathering of PEZ collectors is set to begin in Independence on Thursday.
It’s become an annual tradition for area PEZ collectors. The event is celebrating 20 years this summer.
The convention will feature an international group of master PEZ collectors, PEZ dealers, and PEZ authors.
PEZ lovers are invited to come and learn from experts and add their own collections.
The event will be held in the grand ballroom at the Holiday Inn on Rockside Road in Independence and runs July 15-17. Saturday’s event is open to the public.
According to PEZamania hosts John and Linda Gliha, in the past four years, PEZamania and its participants have donated over $40,000 to three local charities.
This year group organizers will have a collection barrel in place for new and unused PEZ dispensers to be donated for relief missions in Panama, The Dominican Republic and Haiti.
