Lifetime is making an original movie about the ordeal that three Cleveland girls went through at the hands of Ariel Castro. The movie tentatively called ‘The Michelle Knight Story’ is being filmed in Cleveland.

The movie stars Raymond Cruz as Ariel Castro. Castro abducted Michelle Knight on August 22, 2002 and held her prisoner in his home for more than 11 years.

Castro went on to abduct two other young women, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus. All three were ultimately rescued along with Berry’s 6-year-old daughter on May 6, 2013. Ariel Castro was arrested and later killed himself in prison.

Cruz originated the role of Detective Sanchez on ‘The Closer’ and ‘Major Crimes’. He is also well known for playing a psychotic meth dealer on ‘Breaking Bad’.
